In winter, Yellowstone National Park is a world of steam, snow and ice. The aim of this panel is to show the atmosphere of Yellowstone that I captured during my visits between 2006 and 2010. In particular, how the extremes of winter weather and varying light play their part in shaping the landscape of the park.
Whether it be the snow covered trees in early morning light, the vibrant colours of landmarks such as the thermal pools of the Black Sand, Midway and Upper Geyser Basins, or the steam forming in intense cold over the terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs it is hard to imagine a more endearing place.
I hope through these images that you will share my experiences and agree with me that Yellowstone in winter is truly a special place.
