The latest updates to Camera Raw (17.2), Lightroom Classic (14.2) and Lightroom Desktop (8.2) have been released to customers via the Creative Cloud App. These updates include new camera and lens support along with minor feature enhancements and bug fixes.
Catalog Backup and Management Improvements [Lightroom Classic]
A new tab has been added to the Catalog Settings dialog. The purpose of this tab is to enable you to easily view catalog backup locations and backup sizes in Catalog Settings > Backups. Additionally, you can also open the backup location or delete older backups.
Tether Enhancements [Lightroom Classic]
Lightroom Classic now supports the ability to select focus points by clicking anywhere on the tethered live view window. This feature is available for supported cameras from Sony, Canon, and Nikon. You can capture photos with precision by choosing different autofocus modes directly from within the live view window, enhancing both functionality and user experience. Adobe Adaptive Profiles [Lightroom Classic & Desktop]
Support for Adobe Adaptive Profiles (Adaptive color and Adaptive Monochrome ) have been added to Lightroom Classic & Desktop. These profiles were previously only available as Technology Previews in Camera Raw.
The Adaptive profiles help with image-adaptive adjustments in color, tone, and contrast of raw images. Follow the steps shown below to apply an Adaptive profile.
- Select Basic in Lightroom Classic or Edit in Lightroom Desktop, then select the profile browser icon.
- Select Adaptive and then select color or B&W according to your preference.

Once applied, you can adjust the intensity with the slider in the range of 0 to 200.
- To apply the Adaptive profile in a batch, select the raw images in the filmstrip (Auto-sync should be enabled) and select Adaptive Color or Adaptive B&W from the Profile drop-down menu under the Basic panel.

Distraction Removal [Camera Raw]
The AI-powered People feature under the Distraction Removal tool (available as Technology Preview) automatically detects distracting people in an image and removes them in just one select. This results in clean, professional-looking photos, ensuring your memories are captured just as you want.
- Open a raw photo with distracting people and select Remove .
- Under Distraction Removal, select the drop-down beside People.
- Camera Raw will automatically detect all the distracting people in the photo and create a mask overlay (red by default) with individual pins over them.
- To exclude someone from the removal, select the pin over them and press the Delete key.
- Select Remove to remove the selection from the photo.
- You can select to switch back to the original photo or select the pin over people to generate variations.
Dual Monitor Support [Lightroom Desktop]
Lightroom Desktop now supports working across two monitors. For example, you can have the Edit view open on the primary monitor and Grid view open on the secondary monitor.
Compare View Improvements [Lightroom Desktop]
The improvements to Compare view now allow you to compare a Before and After version of your photo.
Performance Update [Lightroom Classic]
- Cropping or drawing brush strokes on images with heavy masks should now be much smoother.
- Folder enumeration time during Application launch.
