Adobe have published a document (Optimise Performance in Lightroom) describing how users of Adobe Lightroom 3 and 4 can configure their hardware and OS setup for maximum performance. This new document is very comprehensive and should go a long way to addressing many of the questions users have regarding hardware configurations (e.g. hard disk drives, SSDs, graphics cards, and ram), locations for catalogs and files, et. It’s also gratifying to see that the document directs readers to my recent article regarding Solid State Drives (SSDs) and Lightroom.
