In late September 1998 I was privileged be a
guest of the North Wales Photographic Association as part of visit to the Snowdonia region of North Wales. The purpose of the visit was
twofold, to participate in the annual "Celtic Challenge
Photographic Competition", and to take as many photographs as time and
weather would allow.
Some of the places I visited
included, the "Pass of Llanberis", "Betws-y-Coed", "Elidr
Mountain", site of the vast "Dinorwig Quarry", and of course
"Blaenau Ffestiniog". The weather conditions were such (very sunny)
that general landscape photography was difficult, although not impossible.
Nevertheless, I got, what for me were many memorable images of the the
region. Unfortunately some of the most memorable suffered from the extreme
lighting conditions that I encountered.
Equipment - Canon EOS-1N,
24mm Wide Angle, 28-105 Zoom, and film Fuji Sensia II, plus the
obligatory tripod!. Images scanned with a Nikon Coolscan LS30 all finishing in Adobe Photoshop
